Casio released a Bluetooth enabled, step tracking, slim design fitness watch and it’s not a G-Shock. It’s just a regular El Cheapo Casio. However it still connects to the Casio Watches app to aggregate your fitness data, just like the G-Squad fitness watches.
This watch is like the budget version of the G-Shock GDB-500 which was released not too long before this one. I bought the GDB-500 and it did not fit. (See the chaotic unboxing video.) I got it in the last hole but it was too tight. Fortunately, the strap on the Casio WS-B1000 is longer than it’s G-Shock counterpart so I was able to wear this for a few days and test it out.
Above is my review video which is not comprehensive, nor is it complete. It’s rushed. I just wanted to get the information out there about this watch and I hope it can be helpful if you are deciding to buy it.
The only problem I had with it is that it registered me driving my truck as walking so it threw off the numbers for my steps that day.
Overall I like it a lot. It’s diminutive so it fits under the sleeve and slim so it doesn’t get in the way. It’s rugged enough I wore it to work for a few days. There’s holes on both sides of the band to allow some air under there.
Even though I call this an El Cheapo it’s more expensive that we’re used to paying for a regular Casio watch. But the additional cost is worth it for that step counting and fitness app tracking if that’s what you want out of a watch.

If you aren’t interested in the step counting, it’s still a good watch on account of its slim design.
