The guys over at casioblog spilled the beans on two new G-Shock watch models that are sure to appeal to the readers of the Beater Watch Blog. They are the GD-010, which is digital, and the GA-010, which is analog. With these watches, G-Shock refocused on basic features, legibility, and ruggedness.
Did I say “spill the beans”? I meant they spilled the borcht. The casioblog is from eastern Europe. I don’t think they have beans there. I read about these watches on casiofanman, which I believe is a related site but is in English.
Anyways, I for one am happy to see G-Shock employ a new rugged but basic design. That’s what you’ve been demanding in the comments of my videos. So here they are. Which one will you buy? There are three colorways for both models, so you have six to chose from. Pick one.
I think I’ll get the black GD-010, but the red one really jumps out at me. Wouldn’t that be hilarious if at G-Shock they were like, “Don’t make these all negative LCD screens or Jim Kinkade will be mad!” and then I went and bought the negative display?
It would be a funny prank to play on Casio engineers.
My first impression of the GD-010 is that it looks like a beefed up Casio AE1500. Also, it looks like a toned down Mudman GW-9500. So it’s right in between.
I can’t mention the Mudman or the AE1500 without offering you the chance to buy one!

Stay tuned for more critiques about these two new watches. And who knows maybe one day I’ll have some info that we can spill the beans!
