G-Shock is staring off 2025 with some hard hitting releases. It’s just January and we already have a few new colors leaked, official word of a new “fine metallic” series, a GOLD ring watch, and a model number registered that we know nothing else about.
Head spinning? Of course it is. You’ve just been walloped by G-Shock news!
Let’s take a dive into each subject.

New colors for the GA-010 and GD-010
The bold and basic G-Shock watch series that Casio released in 2024 will get a couple new colors each, according to Great G-Shock world. But it’s not just colorways on the body that are updating. There will also be negative LCDs and some cloth bands.
The GD-010 will introduce a negative LCD version that will result in an all black watch. Those of you who love that murdered out look should be ready to click buy incase this one sells out.
In addition, the GD-010 model will have a new brown color that has a cloth band. Judging from the looks, the cloth is Cordura. I think this is the case because the cotton band on G-Shocks have metal rivets. I do not see metal rivets on this brown watch. Also, the LCD is negative on the brown GD-010.
For the GA-010s, one is a green color with a fabric band. The other has a resin band but is all murdered out.
I noticed while making the video that there are three metal keepers on the fabric band. So hopefully at least one will be fixed near the buckle.

Fine Metallic Series
This one isn’t a rumor. G-Shock has already released promotional material about a new series: the Fine Metallic Series. These watches look like they’re made of metal, but the band is flexible because it has urethane, and it’s feels soft because the part that touches your skin is silicon.
G-Central has been reporting about these new G-Shocks as well.
It took 10 years to develop this technology, and you can read an interview with the minds behind the project on the Casio international website.

Gold Casio Ring Watch
The silver Casio ring watch sold out in seconds. Now a picture of a Gold one leaked. So will this one sell out in seconds?
Once again Great G-Shock World spilled the beans on this one. I covered it in a previous post but I talked about it some more in this video.
New Casio model number GAV-01
All we know about this watch is the model number: GAV-01.
It’s likely to be a G-Shock, based on the letter G. It’s likely to be analog, based on the letter A. And I think it might be basic based on the number 01. But what does V indicate? Good question, huh? What do you think?
I think that it might be completely analog. No Digital subdial. Or maybe an analog hybrid watch like Garmin’s.
Once again, the source of the spilled beans here is Great G-Shock World.

The GX56-TU is DISCONTINUED!
To round off this episode of G-Shock news, we have something sad and sobering. The two tone utility color King is being discontinued. Yes, Great G-Shock World reported this too.
The King, which is the big G-Shock GX56TU, sold out here in the United States. Real Men were clamoring for that positive display King with the khaki band. And what can I say, but I told you guys to buy it! When you see a G-Shock you want, you better get it! Don’t come crying to me if it sells out while you’re dilly-dallying.
If you thought there might be a second chance to pick one up because G-Shock would make more, you are sorely mistaken. They discontinued the model in Japan.
Look, there might be an off chance there is some stock left for this watch on Amazon. Here’s an affiliate link to the product listing on Amazon. Someone may have one. You’ll just have to click through and see. Otherwise you’re out of luck.
