I got the G-Shock GM2110D-2A

Live unboxing of the G-Shock GM2120D-2A

G-Shock released their new steel Casioak to the American market Thursday. The GM2110D went up for sale in 5 different colors: green, orange, light blue, navy blue, and clear-coat steel. This non-connected, non-solar G-steel ani-digi watch is priced at $300.

Of course, I picked one up. I got it in Navy Blue because that’s what a huge majority of my viewers chose in the poll on my YouTube. And I had it rush delivered so I can wear it to church on Sunday.

So stay tuned for the upcoming Navy Blue review. But until then enjoy the live unboxing video above. A commenter just reported that he counted me saying “alright” over 100 times. I don’t know about that. I think there’s at least 200 of them. How many did you count?

Breitling NFL Edition: Touchdown or Fumble?

Breitling unveiled 32 limited edition Chronomat B01 42 models, and it just so happens each one has a different color on the dial that corresponds to an NFL team’s official Pantone color. Dadgum it! Does the NFL know this? There’s no way this could be a coincidence.

Hold up. I squinted and looked closer. Each one of these luxury chronographs has a picture that looks exactly like the NFL teams’ logos. Right there on the left subdial. Outrageous. I expect this from Chinese knockoffs. Not preeminent Swiss watchmakers!

News Flash: The resemblance of these luxury watches to NFL team’s colors and logos is not some conspiracy theory. It’s a conspiracy fact. Breitling and the National Football League partnered to produce officially licensed NFL watches. This is according to Forbes, a reputable news site, not infowars.

G-Shock, Watch Out: The Promaster Land is Here

Citizen Watches is bringing the WAR to Casio G-Shock with its newly released Promaster Land Combination watch that has two versions: the JV1005-02W and the JV1007-07E.

What kind of firepower does this new tool watch pack? For starters it has 200 meters of water resistance. Then it adds a rugged look with knurled buttons and knob shrouds. The sword styled hands are big and bold. The watch face is simple, uncluttered, and has two subdials. A raised metal bezel protects the sapphire glass. And it’s all powered by the sun with solar charging they call Eco-Drive.

Here’s where Citizen drops the bomb on G-Shock:

Is it a ProTrek?

Despite me wearing the ProTrek PRJB001B-2 for several days and finding many good things about it, there are some guys who insist it’s not a ProTrek. Why?!

ProTrek PRJB001B2 – Bungee Cord Band

This new ProTrek PRJ-B001-B2 straps to your wrist with an innovative bungie cord that will throttle your imagination and test your intelligence.

There are two other versions with regular low IQ bands available to the international market. Casio thinks Americans are too smart for those. So  @thissmallwrist  was asking it would fit a small wrist. I think so. I wore it in my finger in this video but that was an exaggeration. Notice how I doubled up the bungie to achieve that. I’m pretty sure about 4” is the smallest wrist size it can practically fit. Stay tuned because we’ll test this watch on a variety of wrist sizes.

G-Shock GM2110D – First Look!

G-Shock took a standard casioak, the GA2100, and encased it in steel. The result is the new GM-2110D. It will be available in 5 different colorways.

Updating the Software on the GBD-H2000

I plunked my phone down in front of my camera and recorded the process of updating the software on the GBD-H2000. I only had to restart the app once and try to reconnect the watch once and in one shot I got the software updated.

Just don’t ask me what changed because to this point I have no idea what was updated. There was some indication that the GPS data was updated, but beyond that I have no clue. And yes, I did an internet search to see if anyone knew — even Reddit — but I turned up nothing.

Once before Casio pushed a big software update that brought the Trekking exercise to the GBD-H2000. That update was accompanied by documentation that outlined the other details of the software that was changing.

I found no such bulletin for this update.

So right now I thinking that I may reach out to my contact at Casio G-Shock and see if I can get the scoop on what was changed on this update.

Until then enjoy this video where you can vicariously update G-Shock software.
