Mudmaster vs. Gravitymaster

The G-Shock Mudmaster GWG-B1000 costs $800. The G-Shock Gravitymaster GR-B300 costs $300. What makes the Mudmaster cost $500 more, and is it worth it?

Yes.

$800 says “Premium”

When I unboxed the Mudmaster the first thing I thought was, “Wow.” The attention to detail is evident when you see the GWG-B1000 in person. So it may seem like $800 is a lot to spend, and it is, but the Mudmaster is worth $800.

First, many components of the Mudmaster are crafted from metal. They keep a chiseled shape for these metal parts, which include the bezel, the dogs, and the button shrouds. Some of the case is metal, but some is Carbon Core Guard, which keeps the watch light and more resistant to shocks.

I didn’t even mention it in the video, but the glass is sapphire. So those of you who refuse to wear a watch with mineral glass, which scratches, will appreciate that.

Finally the hands are big and lumed well. Also the Mudmaster is jam packed with features that utilize the ABS sensors and the Bluetooth connected app for GPS information.

Which G-Shock wears smaller?

Question from YouTube commenter Zlobert: Which G-Shock wears smaller, the DW-6900 or the GD-010?

That’s a good question, so I hit record on my video camera and compared these two G-Shocks!

It’s a 6900, albeit a GW, not DW.

First, it should be noted that I do not own a G-Shock DW-6900, but I do have a GW-6900. What’s the difference between the two? The GW-6900 has Multiband 6 and Tough Solar. So it has additional functionality over the DW-6900, and it costs more.

Since we’re comparing the fit, the additional functions don’t matter. This video is all about the physical dimensions.

They found more Mudmen!

Good news! They found a pallet of G-Shock Mudmen in the back of the warehouse! Remember how I warned you about the limited supply of GW-9500s? That is no longer the case. What happened?

Here’s how it went down. Maybe not in reality, but certainly in my head: Casio sent an intern out to audit the warehouse inventory. He failed to see an entire pallet of G-Shock Mudmen because someone leaned an empty pallet against it.

Don’t ever lean pallets! If you have empty pallets, stack them safely on the ground.

Mudman in Short Supply

G-Shocks with BIG Numbers!

Who doesn’t love to read his watch? That’s what big numbers are all about: LEGIBILITY! So let’s take a look at some Casios and G-Shocks that I own that have BIG numbers!

CASIO AE-1500

I remember the day I walked into Walmart wearing my G-Shock King, the GWX-56BB. It was big, yet with small numbers on a negative LCD, it was hard to read. I didn’t think Casio could make watches with big numbers. Then I lifted my eyes from the watch I was wearing and gazed at the Casio AE-1500. I read the time from across the store.

I approached the watch, and to my delight, it advertised itself as an extended wrist band watch. Perfect for a big wrister like me.

Flipping the box around I saw its price tag: $21.

You’re dadgum right I bought it! And after wearing it, I have officially declared it the BEST $20 watch!
